In order to make our clients’ goals a reality, Cornerstone has teamed up and assembled a group of professionals to make victory a reality.
W. Matthew Kowalczyk
Owner
Matt Kowalczyk has been in the insurance and financial planning profession since 1996 and has owned businesses in those fields since 1997. Matt has trained many CPAs, accountants, attorneys, financial planners, agents, and advisors over the years to help them serve their clients more efficiently. With extensive knowledge in financial planning, healthcare, consumer driven health plans, cash balance plans, advanced tax planning concepts, estate planning, and business succession planning Matt has served professionals and clients in several parts of the country. Matt has also served on advisory boards for insurance companies over the years.
Matt has been blessed with a beautiful wife, Karen, and together they raise five wonderful children. Faith and family are the true foundation that Matt builds his life on. Matt has started an online magazine called SportsFaith that focuses on faith in sports and has helped launch Clear Mission Networking which connects Christian professionals and helps build business with God at the center. When there is time he also plays saxophone on worship teams and for a praise-and-worship big band called “The Swinging Angels.” Cornerstone is active in several community programs from little league to pageants that they sponsor. Matt, Karen, and their family have also participated in many bike races, running events, and have even done a couple tri- and duathlons.
Shari Peggs
Assistant
Shari has been with the Cornerstone family since September 2019 and is a valuable addition to the team. Shari’s attention to detail and service-first attitude has added a level of professionalism that is tough to come by.
Karen Kowalczyk
Office Manager
Karen has been serving in the industry since 1990. After deciding to step down from corporate management at Humana in 2018, Karen has been a very welcome addition to the Cornerstone team. Dedicated to customer service and excelling in organization, Cornerstone is better as a group because of Karen.
Nanci LeBeau
Customer Service / Admin
Nanci had been serving in the insurance industry with her husband for many years and has now joined the Cornerstone family to serve clients and advisors. Her expertise and personality are a welcome addition to our team.
Abbey VandenPlas
Customer Service / Technology Coordination
Abbey is new to the industry and joined the Cornerstone family in December of 2021. Abbey’s tech savviness and growing understanding of the financial industry makes her a significant addition to our administrative team.
